The Request That Started Everything

A family wanted to celebrate their patriarch's 75th birthday at Casa de Campo. Twenty-two people across three generations. Ten days.

Different dietary requirements ranging from vegan to severe shellfish allergies. Some wanted golf every morning. Others wanted spa treatments. The teenagers needed constant entertainment. The request landed in our inbox six months before the celebration.

Why Villa Blanca Made Sense

We suggested Villa Blanca immediately. Ten bedrooms meant couples got privacy while kids could share the rooms with two queen beds. The golf course views would satisfy the early-morning players. The infinity pool and multiple lounging areas gave everyone space to spread out without feeling scattered.

Most importantly, Vista Chavon's location meant quick access to everything Casa de Campo offers while maintaining complete privacy.

The family loved the suggestion but worried about coordination. Twenty-two people generate a lot of moving parts.

Making Ten Days Flow

The in-villa chef situation required precision. We brought in two additional sous chefs to handle the volume and dietary complexity. Breakfast ran from 6 AM for golfers to 11 AM for teenagers. We created rotating menus that satisfied everyone without the kitchen becoming a restaurant.

Our concierge handled tee times at Teeth of the Dog, but also knew when to book the less challenging Dye Fore for family members who played casually. We arranged two yacht days—one sunset cruise for adults, one day trip to Saona Island that kept teenagers engaged.

The spa wouldn't normally send therapists to villas for groups this large. We made it happen. Three massage therapists arrived one afternoon and transformed the villa into a private wellness retreat.

The Birthday Night

The actual birthday dinner challenged us. The family wanted something special but not a restaurant. We transformed Villa Blanca's main terrace into a Dominican feast. Local musicians played merengue. Our expanded chef team prepared traditional sancocho alongside international favorites.

We sourced a birthday cake from Santo Domingo's best pastry chef: three tiers, dietary restrictions considered.

When the grandfather mentioned missing his favorite cigar brand from Miami, we had a box waiting at dinner.

The Departure Dance

Checking out with 22 people typically means chaos. Forgotten items. Disputed bills. Missing children. We created individual departure packets for each family unit with flight confirmations, transfer times, and a checklist for their rooms.

Our team conducted room sweeps after each group left. We found three phones, a wedding ring, and someone's prescription glasses: all returned before their flights departed.

The patriarch sent us a message weeks later. He'd been visiting Casa de Campo for twenty years. This was his smoothest trip yet.
